Each Alvin ruling pen is precision ground, tapered and finely honed to produce precise ruled lines. Alvin Ruling Pen points are nickel-plated steel with a black plastic handle.
The most important element in any drawing is the line. Line quality (thickness, darkness, straightness, evenness, etc) are of primary importance to the draftsman, as are the instruments used to draw it. Ruling pens are excellent for creating ruling lines or drawing with ink, drawing liquids or even thin paints. Easily adjustable to a variety of line widths and renders them precisely by simply turning the metal screw wheel.
